Our District

Newark Logo

We have 7 groups across the district, 2 district explorer units and a network unit. We currently have over 500 youth members within the district and around 200 adult volunteers supporting our members.

We believe that we could significantly increase our membership with more volunteers who could spare us the time. Volunteering is #goodforyou as not only does it give you that warm fuzzy feeling, but it gets you out and about, is good for your mental wellbeing and lets you help mould young peoples lives.

About our Group

1st Coddington Scout group was founded in 1938 and is an extremely active group with a Beaver Colony, a Cub Pack and a Scout Troop. The group has also been chosen as the first location in the District to open our newest section Squirrels, in the next few months.

The group is incredibly popular with all sections at capacity and a considerable waiting list.

Their current Group Scout Leader is Steve Adshead, who is backed up by a dedicated group of leaders, helpers and supporters.

The group has owned the old national school building Main Street, Coddington since 1969.

The building consists of a reception hall, main hall, kitchen, toilets as well as a substantial garden, pond and nature area! The hall is also available for hire.

Coming soon!

Could you volunteer to help us make this a reality sooner?
